I am seeking donations of Fine Art for the October auction.
So far I have two committments. If anyone has connections or know the art scene in your area, please see if you can get artists to donate for October. I have found that most have already committed charitable donations for the next few months so I set a goal of October but, of course, any donation any time would be GREAT! Debra |

Please contact your local Alzheimer's Association to see if they have a Memory Walk in October. You might be able to offer to auction some of your clients' paintings and share the profits.

I am looking for classes to become certified in mneme therapy. I live in Longmont, Colorado, but am willing to travel up to an hour away. Are there job opportunities for this type of therapy?
anyone know where I should look?

Hello. I have just discovered and am intrigued by this program. However, I'm not the type to write a $3000 - $6000 check without speaking with someone directly who can recommend the program. Preferably someone with no financial gain associated with my writing the check ;-). No offense to those who are - nothing happens without expenses and if this therapy really does what you represent it does you should soon be charging $30K. I would very much like to sit down for tea/coffee with an experienced therapist in my area to discuss the therapy's expectations and limitations. If there are any established therapists - or a family member or care giver who has been the recipient of such therapy services - I am near Middlebury, Vermont and would be willing to travel up to 3hours to chat (that would include anyone in the Western MA area) and perhaps sit in on a session or two if that is possible. In the mean time, I will put together some samples of my work to see if I can pass the grade. Thank you in advance for your efforts and willingness to respond. -- Eve

I am very interested in this program! I have started to put together some of my paintings to submit with my application. Just wondering if anyone can give me some insight into this program? Im looking forward to starting this journey! :)

As a professional artist and teacher ... and with my Mom who has Alzheimers and my grandson who is Autistic... I am so very excited for this wonderful program that offers so much love and caring in these areas. It is the vision of the founder and the dedication of volunteers that will bring so much to so many worldwide. May God Bless you all as you move forward.

What a phenomenal opportunity to "leave your mark" on the world! To many times, people come into this world with the immeasurable talents, gifts, and abilities...and leave this world with the same locked inside, never to be shared or experienced. Art Without Boundaries is an opportunity for ALL involved to share a bit of the gifts, talents, and abilities divinely coded into their essential makeup to "add life" to another. Whether it's an Mneme Therapist adding life and affirming value in a patient, a patient adding life and color on canvas for others to appreciate, or a team member adding life to the possibility of affected patients being able to financially qualify for continuous treatment...everyone has an opportunity to contribute.

Welcome! Our mission and tag line is "Creating a circle of compassion." I think a blog page takes a step in creating that circle: a community of people with a passion to make a difference in the lives of those with Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders, getting to know each other and sharing ideas.
I like the symbolism of "wet paint" as well. Everything that AWBF represents: our creative therapy; our business plan; the Celebrations... are all 'en process:' growing, changing, developing. I continually find it amazing that I can have an idea, sit down at my computer and via the magic and power of the internet can send that idea out to potentially millions of people. My hopes for our organization is that we stay in that wet paint stage, always ready to embrace new thoughts and ideas that will move us forward and upwards. I look forward to your colorful comments. |
