I am seeking donations of Fine Art for the October auction. So far I have two committments. If anyone has connections or know the art scene in your area, please see if you can get artists to donate for October. I have found that most have already committed charitable donations for the next few months so I set a goal of October but, of course, any donation any time would be GREAT! Debra

Please contact your local Alzheimer's Association to see if they have a Memory Walk in October. You might be able to offer to auction some of your clients' paintings and share the profits.

I was having a problem finding the mop brushes Noell wants us to use. I found them at www.aoeartworld.com. You can get the soft grip 1/2", 3/4" and 1" for $1.99 each plus shipping.

I am looking for classes to become certified in mneme therapy. I live in Longmont, Colorado, but am willing to travel up to an hour away. Are there job opportunities for this type of therapy?
anyone know where I should look?

Hi Joanna, Just wanted you to know I haven't forgotton about you - just have been busy and a bit scattered. I spoke with Noell about the program a bit, and it sounds like Boulder has quite a few people interested as well as Denver. I will give you a call by the weekend, if not sooner, and hope we can talk a bit. Heather

Hello. I have just discovered and am intrigued by this program. However, I'm not the type to write a $3000 - $6000 check without speaking with someone directly who can recommend the program. Preferably someone with no financial gain associated with my writing the check ;-). No offense to those who are - nothing happens without expenses and if this therapy really does what you represent it does you should soon be charging $30K. I would very much like to sit down for tea/coffee with an experienced therapist in my area to discuss the therapy's expectations and limitations. If there are any established therapists - or a family member or care giver who has been the recipient of such therapy services - I am near Middlebury, Vermont and would be willing to travel up to 3hours to chat (that would include anyone in the Western MA area) and perhaps sit in on a session or two if that is possible. In the mean time, I will put together some samples of my work to see if I can pass the grade. Thank you in advance for your efforts and willingness to respond. -- Eve

Hello, Eve, We are in the train-the-trainer stage of launch, so there's no one to speak to except me and I don't meet your criteria since I'm the founder. We do have a chapter opening in Barre, VT and I'm sure Tammy would be glad to give you her reasons for joining the program. If you want to speak to me I can tell you about my 8 years experience and vision for the future and give you some names and numbers of people who have watched the progress of the program over several years, use our toll free number 866-938-6546. If you haven't been on our website, here's the address: http://artwithoutboundaries.org Sorry if there was lag time in this response, I've been busy processing the 30 applications we've gotten since January! Hope to speak to you soon, Noell

I'm looking forward to receiving your application and art work. For those new to our program, the application process is a multi-step proceedure. First you have to slow down and read the Q and A page. We have to make sure that the applicant is equipped to read through an on-line curriculum. Next, if you feel you qualify, you fill out the application and submit 3 samples of representational art (landscapes, florals). If they meet our high standards, you will be contacted to have 2 people call and tell us about you. Once you are accepted and make a payment, you control your area and can decide if you want a co-op with other artists, or your area will only support you. You'll do the online curriculum at your own pace, then do a hands-on final either in your area or in Florida. Once you graduate, your mentor will act as a consultant or advisor for 6 months. You can make $50.00 an hour and set up a practice comprised of private pay clients autistic schools and healthcare organizations and do the most satisfying work of your life. I'm excited to see others join us in this wonderful pioneer venture!

Jonathan Swift wrote in 1699, "Vision is the art of seeing the invisible."
Here's another quote about the future:
"Everything that can be invented has been invented." -Charles H. Duell, director of the U.S. Patent Office, 1899
My praise goes out to those men and women of vision who stepped out of the ordinary to serve in a higher way. Your rewards will be paid in a different currency: a smile, from someone who has not smiled, a word from the wordless or a thank you from the heart. There can be no higher reward than touching another's life and leaving it changed. Thank you for hearing our heart and answering the call.

As a professional artist and teacher ... and with my Mom who has Alzheimers and my grandson who is Autistic... I am so very excited for this wonderful program that offers so much love and caring in these areas. It is the vision of the founder and the dedication of volunteers that will bring so much to so many worldwide. May God Bless you all as you move forward.

What a phenomenal opportunity to "leave your mark" on the world! To many times, people come into this world with the immeasurable talents, gifts, and abilities...and leave this world with the same locked inside, never to be shared or experienced. Art Without Boundaries is an opportunity for ALL involved to share a bit of the gifts, talents, and abilities divinely coded into their essential makeup to "add life" to another. Whether it's an Mneme Therapist adding life and affirming value in a patient, a patient adding life and color on canvas for others to appreciate, or a team member adding life to the possibility of affected patients being able to financially qualify for continuous treatment...everyone has an opportunity to contribute.
I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing this very valuable service go global, and I count it a privilege to be a part of the pioneering group.

Welcome! Our mission and tag line is "Creating a circle of compassion." I think a blog page takes a step in creating that circle: a community of people with a passion to make a difference in the lives of those with Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders, getting to know each other and sharing ideas.
I like the symbolism of "wet paint" as well. Everything that AWBF represents: our creative therapy; our business plan; the Celebrations... are all 'en process:' growing, changing, developing. I continually find it amazing that I can have an idea, sit down at my computer and via the magic and power of the internet can send that idea out to potentially millions of people. My hopes for our organization is that we stay in that wet paint stage, always ready to embrace new thoughts and ideas that will move us forward and upwards. I look forward to your colorful comments.
